It’s free to attend, leaving you to splurge on food and drinks from Uptown Plaza’s eateries. Huss Brewing Co. will have Schreiner’s hot dogs with bags of popcorn for $19 (serves two), $6 beer cheese nachos, $2.50 Mexican Coke products, while Scoopwell’s Dough Bar offers a family four-pack of mini ice cream sandwiches and other treats for $17. The gig goes from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Celebrate the holidays and help support a good cause at Uptown Plaza’s Uptown Local Market on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be local makers, food, live music and Santa Claus. The event will raise money to help St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. From 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 pm., this family-friendly event will feature face painting by Sweet Pea Face Painting, pumpkin decorating, Halloween crafts, yard games and more. Scoopwell’s Dough Bar will have speed stack races outside of their shop, with the fastest time every half hour earning a free four-scoop of dough. Shake Shack will be in the courtyard offering custard tastings as well. Uptown Plaza is Launching an Art Contest for Seven Wooden Benches |

Uptown Plaza is central Phoenix will be accepting submissions for artwork on their seven benches around the center. The contest will run from June 1st through the 15th.

The benches were made by Modern Manor’s Ryan Durkin, who recreated them based on blueprints found in an old trunk of one of Disneyland’s original designers.

Artists will have one month to complete their artwork (July 1-31), which will then be placed back at Uptown Plaza with a placard acknowledging each artists work. A stipend will be given to the seven chosen artists.
