Located on the northeast corner of Central Avenue and Camelback Road, Uptown Plaza is located in the heart of Phoenix’s vibrant north-central neighborhood.
Long considered the crossroads of the Valley, this is where the high-rises lining both sides of Central Avenue slowly blend into the historic and still highly-desirable suburban neighborhoods of Medlock Place, Pierson Place, Windsor Square and St. Francis. Ironically, when it opened in 1955, Uptown Plaza was located just outside the city limits, making it the city’s first suburban shopping center.
Today, this once distant shopping center is now an urban live/work/play hotspot, with countless commuters and the Valley Metro Light Rail rumbling past bustling retail and restaurant street-fronts. And all of this surrounded by the “best big city neighborhoods in America” according to Money magazine.
When fully restored, Uptown Plaza will once again be a welcoming neighborhood landmark, where 1950s charm meets modern amenities thanks to a lively mix of local and national shopping, restaurants and more.
